About Me

Hi, I'm Christine and welcome to my blog!

I'm a teacher's wife, cat mom, Jesus lover, and a homeowner. I love to bake, sew, paint furniture, and spend time with my husband.

We've had a great many adventures these past 5 years of marriage including...

- renovating our fixer upper home
- building and restoring furniture together

- mentoring engaged couples at our church

- hitting the thrift stores and antique malls

- downsizing to one vehicle (a shiny red pickup truck!)
-buying a motorcycle as a second vehicle
-travelling all over the South

How it all started...

I started crafting as a cheap hobby to entertain myself while my husband was in seminary during the early part of our marriage (2012). When a friend who was also into crafting, told me she had a blog, I couldn't wait to check it out. After reading some of her stories, I thought to myself.. hmm maybe I would enjoy doing this too..?

A blog felt like a natural step to write about the fun, creative ideas I had going on in my early married life.  Fast forward 5+ years, and I've enjoyed sharing with you my life on a whole range of topics.

I've posted Christian book reviews. I've shared the countless projects we've done on our fixer-upper house, some quilting and sewing projects, my experience opening an Etsy store, Christmas gift ideas, places we've traveled to, etc. I've even shared some personal things going on in life, like when we decided to down-size to one car, and my love-hate relationship with exercise.

In 2015 and 2016, I took a bit of a break from writing, and didn't post as much because we had been walking through the mess that is infertility. Over the past years I've read a lot of infertility blogs. And while those have their place, I didn't want this blog to become one of those. I wanted a safe place for readers to be uplifted, inspired, and to just enjoy.

One day I'll write a post about our journey of infertility, just maybe not now. While we don't have a child, we are choosing to live life beyond. No more pills. No more tests. No more deadlines. For right now, I'm ready to move on in 2017 and embrace the life God has for me!

I hope you are encouraged by my writings. Feel free to leave comments, and thanks for stopping by!
